September 5th-6th 2026 | Entry £60 per person
What to Expect

At exactly midday on Saturday 5th September, all riders will set off from our Factory HQ in Leeds and ride as far geographically north as possible. But there’s a twist. That’s only half the journey.

This time, you must turn around and return to where you started within the 24 hour window. One second after midday on Sunday 6th September and your distance will be invalid. One minute early and, well, you could have ridden a little further, couldn’t you?

Make the ride as hard or easy as you want it to be. Cruise in a vaguely northerly direction until you find a pub that you like, then potter home. Time trial as hard as you can and see if your legs will hold out on the return leg. Plan your route meticulously or make it up as you go. Ride solo, or enter as a group of friends. Whatever your approach though, you can be sure that to win, it’s going to need a huge effort.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Restrap event without a party. The factory will be open for friends and family to dotwatch live and the vibe will be turned up a notch as riders make their way home, culminating in a prize ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

Ever since Josh’s first ride, we wondered whether we could turn The North Race into, you know, an actual race. Something that brought people together, as well as pitting them against each other. This year, it is becoming a reality.

The Rules
❋ Riders must carry a tracker (included in cost of entry).

Riders who do not return their tracker will be charged the full cost of a replacement.

❋ Riders must record their activity using a GPS device.

All riders are responsible for recording their own GPX track, in case of tracker failure.

There is no fixed route. Riders must plan their own route. This must legally be navigable by bike (no naughty footpaths).

❋ Riders must plan their own route.

There are three categories: Men, Women and Team. Teams can consist of any number of riders. All riders who start must complete the entire route and ride as a group. All team members will be issued with a tracker.

❋ The Three Categories

Do not put yourself or anyone else in danger. This is just a bit of fun. Sleep deprivation affects everyone differently and this must be managed with caution and common sense. If you need to, get some rest.

❋ Safety

The Restrap board of technical inspectors will record each rider’s most northerly point using tracker data.

❋ The judge’s decision is final.

All standard self-supported race rules apply. No outside support. No support that would not be available to all riders. No drafting unless you are in a team.

❋ Self Supported

We are a welcoming and considerate community, don’t make anyone feel like that isn’t the case.

❋ Don't Be A Dick
Points Mean Prizes

What’s that? You want more motivation to bury yourself for twenty four hours?

How about cold hard cash prizes? The winner of each category that reaches the furthest north by latitude (Mens, Womens and Team) will receive a prize pot based on the data from their ride:

£10 per complete 10km of northerly latitude covered.
£10 per complete 1000m of height climbed over the total distance of their ride.

For example, if the winner reaches 259km due north of Restrap HQ and they climb 2,876m along their route. They will win £250 + £20 = £270. No rounding up.. we want to make this a carrot on a stick to push that little bit further..

There will be no runners up. Winner takes it all.

What will the weekend look like?
